Why Move To Nevada?..

August 12, 2011

Nevada’s tax climate is among the least burdensome in the country. The complete absence of many taxes found in many jurisdictions can significantly increase the bottom line to your business. For that reason, Nevada is consistently ranked as having one of the most business friendly climates in the nation, a recognition of the fact that our state’s tax structure offers a business environment few states can match

No Business Income Tax
Nevada does not impose income tax on domestic or foreign corporations. Nevada levies no taxes whatsoever on corporate profits.
Income Tax is Prohibited
Personal income tax is prohibited by Nevada’s constitution. http://www.leg.state.nv.us/Const/NVConst.html#Art10
No Estate Tax
Nevada does not impose any estate tax over and above the federal tax liability. This means the properties and money you worked so hard to build can be passed on to your heirs intact.
No Franchise Tax
A franchise tax is what you pay for the privilege of doing business in a given jurisdiction and is based on income, outstanding shares, assets or some combination thereof. Nevada levies no franchise tax whatsoever.
No Gift Tax
Nevada allows you to transfer your property, money and legacy when and to whom you desire, without paying tax to Nevada. No gift taxes means you won’t be penalized for your generosity in life, and no inheritance tax means that your heirs won’t be subject to costly expenses on top of their personal loss.
No Inventory Tax
Nevada has no tax on inventories held for sale within Nevada or for interstate transit. Businesses can take advantage of Nevada’s liberal free port laws and Foreign Trade Zones to warehouse, fulfill and ship orders from within the state to save money and protect profits. A Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) is a site within the United States, in or near a U.S. Customs port of entry, where foreign and domestic merchandise is generally considered to be international commerce. The rapidly growing zone program is flexible and offers solutions to business issues not addressed by other custom procedures. Nevada’s Foreign Trade Zone #89 is comprised of six sites strategically located throughout Southern Nevada. For more imformation see the Nevada Development Authority’s Southern Nevada’s Foreign Trade Zone publication at http://www.nevadadevelopment.org/documents/FTZ89.pdf

Northern Nevada’s Foreign Trade Zone #126, comprised of 6 sites totaling nearly 7,500 acres throughout Northern Nevada, is one of the largest in the nation. For more information on Northern Nevada’s Foreign Trade Zone please visit the EDAWN web site at www.edawn.org/business/foreign-trade-zone.
