Incline High School 25th Annual Crab Feed..
January 26, 2009
Silver and green are the colors of this year’s Annual Crab and Pasta Feed — silver because it is the 25th anniversary of the event and green because it is going to be a zero waste event.
The 25th annual Crab and Pasta Feed — a fundraiser for Incline High School Boosters — will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the North Tahoe Events Center (formerly known as the conference center).
Tickets went on sale Monday at The Potlatch. They can also be purchased by contacting Kathy Long at 833-1429 or kathyklong@yahoo.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Tickets are $50 per person or $400 for a table of eight.
There are 400 tickets available and the crab feed usually sells out, Long said.
The Boosters are hoping the poor economy this year will not make the 25th anniversary an exception to its sell out history.
“It is the one big fundraiser for the school, so I hope people will still be able to support it,” Long said.
The Boosters support programs at the high school such as athletics, drama, music, art and JROTC, among others, said Boosters vice-president Tia Rancourt.
“It is the only fundraiser,” Rancourt said, adding that last year the crab feed raised $44,000 for school activities and programs.
Doors open at 5 p.m., so participants can socialize and bid on the silent auction and view the items for the live auction. Raffle tickets are also sold and the Incline High School Jazz Band will be performing.
Dinner is at 6:30 p.m. and includes all-you-can-eat pasta, bread, salad and, most of all, crab. Dessert tops off the dinner that will leave no one hungry. Incline High School seniors wait on the tables to earn tips for their senior trip and graduation.
Linda Offerdahl is in charge of auction items, so if you or a business have an item you would like to donate, please call her at 832-7275 or e-mail at Linda@offerdahl.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Some of the auction items can be viewed and bid on before Feb. 7 by visiting www.purplewave.com/cgi-bin/pwdetails.cgi?090207 and looking for the Feb. 7 Crab Feed event. Bids can be placed online until 6 p.m. Feb. 7.
The Boosters reported in the IHS Newsletter: “With the funds generated at this extraordinary community event, the Boosters are able to meet their mission of “Benefiting more than one student for more than one year.”
